Have you heard this powerful quote before? “Life is like photography. We develop from the negatives.
It’s a quote I’ve reminded myself of a LOT over the years as I’ve picked myself up and dusted myself off from yet another failure or disappointment.
In fact, it was those failures and disappointments and the many lessons I’ve learned from them, which are now principles and steps I teach my clients as they continue to struggle with the challenges I struggled with.
So, not only are we able to develop from those negative experiences – through passing on what we’ve learned, we’re also able to help others who are struggling with the very things we have struggled with and have been able to overcome.
It was my WORST business failure ever, that 7-years on, I can honestly say, was the BEST thing that ever happened to me because it led me down the path to where I am today.
And, while I certainly wouldn’t have chosen to experience this level of loss and failure – it has built a level of resilience and tenacity that I know is needed for a time such as now and that I can continue to share with others.
What about you?
I know that the last two years have been anything but easy for businesses. Some of my clients had their business come to a standstill overnight and they were faced with – what next?
Some of you may be experiencing that now – with so much change and uncertainty going on – even now and you’re left thinking, what next?
My coach’s request for you this week is to remind yourself of the above quotation: “Life is like photography. We develop from the negatives.”
- What can you learn from the situation?
- What can and will you do next time to get a different result?
- What support/mentoring do you need to ensure this doesn’t happen again and that you
So, while you may feel like giving up – don’t! There’s always a way! You just need to go find what that ‘way’ is!
Have a wonderful week!
